She! Poem by Robert Edgar Burns

She!

She grins at me with smile so sweet.
She strokes my beard, it feels so neat.
She rubs her hand across my chest,
And pats my back, was this a test?

She sees the pleasure in my face.
She knows my eyes cannot betray,
Exactly what goes through my mind,
When her kisses bless me anytime.

She’s what my life is all about.
I brag of her and never flout.
The passion she puts into my soul,
And drags it out, that keeps me whole.

She’s everything in the world to me.
She’s all I want or will ever need.
She’s my guardian angel sent from above.
Besides her beauty she is purest love.

She never walks away from me,
Where my eyes don’t follow longingly.
When we’re apart it sure is hell.
I’ll see her soon, so all will be well.

Why did it take so long to find,
This angel who has become mine?
I think it shows a lot of class,
When you save the very best, for last!

The treasures of this world are found,
In lakes and rivers and underground.
But the greatest treasure of all to me,
Will always be one word called “She! ”
