She Calls Poem by Siya Pande

She Calls

Rating: 5.0

Stretching her arms wide she calls,
Her once strong empire has now begun to fall.
The children no more hear her pain,
She is left all alone, but in vain.

The roots once thick have now begun to dwindle,
Her bright gay beauty is filled with wrinkles.
Her fate is now surrounded by scavengers and ravens,
The life of love she once lived has been filled with demons.

There was a time she ruled the earth,
Her smiles gave birth to wonderful lives from dearth.
Her mother like visage soothed the night's dark,
The glimpses she had, portrayed the beauty of a lark.
Her offspring danced around to respond to her motherly love,
She sat on her enchanted throne and never failed to give them a hug.

But now the imp has taken over,
The cries of agony are left about to hover.
She calls, and calls, stretching her arms wide,
Those eyes, once filled with happiness, have now dried.
She, the once mother, is now an abandoned creature,
Calling for help is none other, but mother nature.
