She Chose The Father Figure Poem by Francis Duggan

She Chose The Father Figure

Rating: 5.0

He is young and bright and handsome the type that women pursue
But he only love one woman brown haired Tess with eyes of blue
But the lovely Tess just needs him as a friend and nothing more
She loves one twice her own age gray haired Joe who lives next door.

Her mum and dad unhappy they can't seem to comprehend
Why she only need young Harry with great future as a friend
She can't be mentally stable she has lost the plot they say
To have chosen for her lover one who is as old as they.

She's not welcome in her parents house seems a huge price
to pay
For sleeping with her neighbour less than a stone throw away
His son is older than her and his son is twenty three
And the man that she makes love to is twice as old as she.

She can have young handsome Harry he still loves her it is said
But she chose the father figure and she went for Joe instead
And her parents disappointed that their only daughter Tess
With a man twice her own age has found love and happiness.
