She Cursed Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

She Cursed

She cursed

I am sure she did curse
- (in the cold where she was
-with the wind, storm, gust;
-and clothes not enough
-to help her keeping warm!)
-her fire too little
-was small and hand-held
- (a lightened cigarette,)
-which science exclaims:
- "…is the most dangerous! "
-that it burns, deep, fierce!
-yet never has been used
-to be the help and aid …
-for warming, as warmer for holder!

In my car I drove
-truly warm, cozy
-saw her looks
-felt guilty

Heart ordered, demanded:
- "Stop, go give her ride…"
-in this way I was raised and trained.
-so, felt it duty, felt obliged…
-and therefore, slowed down…
-intended to reverse…

In ear echoed sound
- "A devil is turned loose:
-…as woman; be careful …"
-since women complain…
-…go and shout everywhere…
-…against men…harassment!

Lifted foot off brake
-put it back on pedal
-of the gas; went forward

Now feel guilty in heart
-sharp dagger roams around...
-wish never heard news! ! !
