She Died Poem by Rachel Brewer

She Died

You phoned me one day in the bright burning sunshine and sounded like you were about to cry.
I tried my hardest to comfort you and calm you down, and then I just had to ask you what was wrong?
Your tears and words were making me nervous, like something very bad could have happened,
And I had to calm you down once more.
When I finally got your speech to flow, what you told me gave me a fright.
I know why you were in such a mess, and why very much you had cried,
I knew this and I joined you, in the moment you told me, she died.
