She Is Not That Way Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

She Is Not That Way

Today I feel blue
Not much about it can I do
I know the many things
That are it's cause
I think of them when I pause
But try not to dwell, just because
There is an emptiness in the air
For many I do care
and treasure what we share
But I'm here this rainy day
and they're there!
Sharing is a fragile thing
A beautiful harmony, togetherness can sing
and sometimes I feel just one.
It's raining and dreary today; I miss the sun
A friend of mine is hurting far away
I know she is
I can feel it inside, she doesn't have to say
I wish so much there was a way
that I could walk with her and share this day
I'd brush her hair back from her face
and kiss all her tears away
I think a little difference I might make
half for me and half for her sake
because life feels today so fleeting
and my heart is meant for meeting
and to freeze a single moment in time
Even if a stolen moment of life
when I am hers and she is mine
If only for the day...
To chase our blues away
I want her to know she has a part
I gladly give her part of this weary heart
just to make her burden lighter
Though I know so well she's a fighter
I feel she's like me, so weary
the thought of her makes me teary
She's a good girl I know so well
She's had it so hard
She's been through Hell
and yet she sends good wishes despite it all
and somehow today I feel her call
The world can sometimes be so small
But she is not that way...
So rare is a heart of Gold; it's as they say!
I've searched from Timbuktu to Conshohocken..
Sometimes they go unnoticed and unspoken
I've noticed, sometimes they are broken
