She Knows Poem by Joseph Narusiewicz

She Knows

Soft tones like sun on a spring sea
You say things to me like violet words
Waves like raining wings
Like clouds with wreaths from heaven
Our language is exotic fire
Inside thrones of Renoir
Her red islands of silk flowers
Making love like glorious hummingbirds

You are sanity
Writhing amidst myriads of flags
We search for one nation
Your heart is my open free wind
Our feet in the warm water
Night brings ships
My lilac lover holds me
She knows my home isn't here
