She's An Enigma Poem by Pauline Levesque

She's An Enigma

She is an enigma to me.
An innocent with a suit of armor.
Restlessness, dissatisfaction….a sadness…
It always surrounds her
In her darkest turmoil…..bleak dreams of anger,
Unhappiness and oppression.
Even when she is happy, it is a fleeting…even that for her
Is not real for any amount of time.
And I?
I am her protector…her lover….still on the outside tapping on the window…
The other side…waiting…waiting…
For her…
She is her mother’s daughter
I don’t know how she will truly embrace herself, to feel all that she is….
To find her peace…
I understand…that is my strength
And I will wait for her, for she is all that I have hoped for.
My love, my enigma.
