She Texted Me Poem by Randy McClave

She Texted Me

She texted me that she was sorry
While I was home alone playing my Atari,
I haven't heard from her in many years
In my soul and mind there is no sadness or pain or tears
As I look and reminisce at the monitor screen so starry.

She texted me that she was married now
I wonder why she was telling me anyhow,
She was never really a true part of my life
She was never my girlfriend or my soon to be wife.
In my mind past turmoils I do not allow.

She then texted me how was I doing
And who was I currently seeing and wooing,
She was following me on social media and the paper
She knew of every poem, story, adventure and caper.
My life she was constantly viewing.

She then told me of her married lifestyle
How now it's full of orders and commands and guile,
Her freedom she said was all gone
From her marriage day one.
No longer does she feel joy, desire or a smile.

She texted me that many times alone she did cry
How she wished she never cheated or lie,
Ever since she put on that wedding ring
Happiness to her life, it never did bring
I finally replied, when I texted her, "Goodbye"!
