She went to Spain
To better her future
And to perhaps temporarily run away
I was against it
Ignored all her feelings
But I still didn’t beg her to stay
She left at a time
We both felt abandoned
I had some demons I was trying slay
She saw my worst side
Prayed for my best side
But the bottle kept that side away
I was unable
To interpret her tears
I saw them as a thorn in my side
So I stayed in denial
And all the while
I poured myself glasses of pride
The day that she left
I was fully prepared
To erase her and start a new life
My heart was all shattered
My mind was all scattered
I thought I’d no need for a wife
As the days wore on
The nights got real lonely
I prayed to get rid of this pain
I put my heart back together
I rode out the weather
And found on my heart was her name
I just want to hold her
Tell her I love her
Show her the man I can be
I see my reflection
With care and affection
Lost the chains that once buried me
Since you’ve been gone
I’ve been so lost
I know I lost my best friend
I want you right near me
I pray that you hear
My feelings I know will not end
…She went to Spain
To further her future
I beg you to come home again……..

I would like to translate this poem
I wonder why this man has not got on the next plane to Spain... (I am having flashbacks of Shirley Valentine now) :)
