She Will Love Herself Poem by A Michelle Smith

She Will Love Herself

Rating: 5.0

She will love her strength that she built pushing through heartbreak and pain
She will love herself when innocence no longer calls her name
-for it was taken at such a young age
She will love weakness in which she finds her vulnerability
She will love her softness in which she now embraces that is part of the being that is now called "she"
She will love her happiness which erases bad memories and old horrors
She will love her quietness in which she find her peace

She will love her hands even though they have created and destroyed many things
She will love her feet that have carried her on the steps of getting free
She will love her face, the way it expresses whether she is in deep pondering or what she really feels
She will love her eyes in which her soul is revealed

She will love the playfulness in her nature despite it all she has not been destroyed nor broken
She will love her feminine in which is her power for her to live, words unspoken
She will love every stretch mark and every pudge
-Every wrinkle and every bulge
She will love the parts of her that she did not use to love

Because in her is a soul survivor and she has made the choice to...
To love her self when nobody else does

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I am on journey learning to let things go and get rid of my past. I am learning how to love myself for ALL the things I have done and for the thins that have happened to me. I am learning that it's ok to be who I am and that I don't have to be defined by past but that I am able to create something new. In this poem I want to encourage other women to do the same.
