Shifting Tides - Poem by sammy slait
What it takes to be happy,
What it takes to feel at ease,
What it takes to make the world go round.
I love you,
Sometimes I want to wrap my hands around your neck,
Yet other times I want to wrap my hands around your waist,
Then press my soft lips to yours.
Sometimes you stress me out,
Making me want to put a revolver in my mouth,
Yet sometimes you make my heart skip a beat,
My knee's then feel weak and I feel I am going to fall.
Somedays you are the rain clouds,
The lightning that strikes me down,
Other days you are the sun piercing the clouds,
Warming me from the inside out.
Sometimes your like the dagger in my back,
Stabbing me deep,
Yet sometimes your the sword standing by my side,
Protecting me til death.
Sometimes I think your a demon from hell,
Sent up to hurt me anyway possible
Other days your my guardian angel from heaven,
Sent down to save me from sorrow,
Sent to save me from my heart ache,
To make me feel whole,
To lead me from this life of pain.
