Shine Poem by Shona Cunnane

Shine

In Hiroshima an atomic bomb caused mass destruction that wiped out every living organism known to man.
The radiation turned everything to ash whatever existed in that city was soon vanished and disintegrated into nothingness.
The eyebrows of some were burned off. Skin hung from their faces and hands. Some were vomiting as they walked. Silence had struck upon this city of terror,

Some people were wiped away within a blink

Yet you sit there unsure of what to do next yet
You can achieve the impossible!
You say the word impossible and I start to laugh,
But you can make someone laugh so hard they can forget everything they ever once knew

You can change the world, time is no option
Time is only there to separate the moment of your life
But your life should not be measured in time;
it should be measured with the moments the made you smile

During the a-bomb a woman on a front step blocked the rays of radiation from hitting a stone. Now all that remains in a shadow of positive light.All doubt and depression that city fulfils your mind.

There’s a stone in the ruined city that remains a reminder that not all things end even through the wicked
