Shook Head Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Shook Head

Shook head

I go to countryside
To decide
About welfare and submit status
As they are all part of us

I look at their faces
And try to trace
Real feelings
About our well being

But surprisingly
They speak happily
With no hatred
But bless despite life being poverty led

I thanked god
For sharing their load
With only trust and faith
As they passed life with contended breathe

I kept no grudge
But felt some hope on golden pages
I have read many books
But surprisingly in disbelief shook head
