Should I Thank God Or You? Poem by Arun Maji

heaven is never for me.
for me- it's always
I am on you, and you on me.

having thought of heaven
I have never forgot- me,
or life's pain, suffering, and misery.
but thinking of you?
I always forget all-
the earth, the sky, and the sea.

saints are those
who never tested your honey.
but had they swum your river
they would never bother
heaven, sainthood or austerity.

why is flower on earth
why is the woman?
God is good, he gave us easy way
to doors of heaven.

it's right here
right in front of me-
pressing her bosom on my breasts
nourishing me.

should I thank God
or you?
I don't mind either, as long as
I have you.
