When I whispered,
Silence speaks
The language of my soul
Someone said,
What a contrast?
He questioned,
Does silence
have a sound?

How could I reveal
the secret of silence?
My restless mind
Always sought its refuge
Reviving my dull spirit,
I enjoyed its subtle beauty,
While communing with my self

Silence was my best friend
The goodness
And courage it radiates,
From a calm, composed
And contemplative spirit
Was its best gift to mankind

Not jarred by the noise
Of the turbulent world
Its power
Like the unseen wind,
Its stillness
Fell on my mind
As a soothing balm…
