Silence Poem by Namita Rani Panda

Silence

When I wished to sob sorely
like the whistling wind in wintry night,
When I wished to cry out crashingly
like the thunderous outburst
to pour out the hurricane in my heart
you said as a wise saint,
'Silence is the greatest solace.'

When I tried to speak out my feelings
like the petals of a bud slowly opening,
When I started growing loving and caring
like the moon scattering silvery beam
You, as a saint in meditation
said, ' Silence is the best expression.'

Now I can fathom the depth of your silence
as blue as the fathomless ocean,
I can listen to your words unspoken
as profound as the blissful heaven
When as a saint I'm in deep meditation.
