Silence With Tongue Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Silence With Tongue

Rating: 5.0

Nobody speaks in silence but their tongue
No one demands anything but truly due
Hands are still empty and await recognition
There is fire within without ignition

Highly stage managed emotional drama
We are dumb founded and gone into coma
Names may be announced and seekers may get
Opportunity is slipped out of hand or simply let

What can we offer to brave sons of soul?
Why do we still disrespect and play foul?
Honor seekers come to the front and occupy
Their strength increases and multiplies

Fake encounters and skirmishes are filmed on print
Same is reported in highlights with every possibility as hint
“We are in line for highest award of the land”
We should be decorated at the palatial building with band

We can only watch amusement and little sadness
What are we going to present to the world with black face?
What is there to highlight when does not even warrant a mention?
Why such a big hype in public when it needed a curb and prevention

It is playing with the sentiments and honor of the nation
If you claim for honor which has got no relevance or relation
With your personal achievement and bravery
It was actually scored by your known enemy or adversary

There are people who can easily rob others and claim credit
They have no idea for their own actions to know or edit
Some of the bereaved families of soldiers are left high and dry
Where as undeserving and incompetent are on move and try

It is human tendency to claim for what is not due to them
Whether it be award, position or in any system
It will be claimed with no shame at all at heart
If they come out successful then it will be claimed as an art

Today the propaganda machinery is pressed into service
For claiming it as an real contribution with the future promise
Let there be no real claimant for the dedication and cause
It is really matter for great shame if we keep silence and observe pause

So many incidents are reported for such treachery
Whether it is in field of sports, shooting, swimming or archery
The real causes are pushed to back side and taken over by favoritism
The national shame is caused with lots of criticism

The real cause may soon be forgotten
Such things may take place very often
The public awareness and alertness may curb malpractice
Culprits may be stopped publicly and enticed
