Silent Tears Poem by Pearl L Johns

Silent Tears

Rating: 5.0

The woman lay on her bed of death,
Once so strong,
Her body now so frail.
She knew she didn't have long.

I talked to her all the time
As I sat their by her side.
Then I looked at her closely
And saw a single tear begin to slide.

Mama, what is it I cried, are you in pain?
I leaned closer to her to hear,
What she said to me that day,
Was no honey, it's just a silent tear.

Why a silent tear mama
Tell me what can I do?
I'm not afarid of dying she said.
I'm just not ready to leave all of you.

Oh mama, I cried
Tears of mine own rolling down that day.
Don't worry about us mama,
I promise we will be okay.

I love you all so much she said to me.
Within your heart I will always be near.
Then she smiled her beautiful smile at me.
As down her cheek rolled that one silent tear.

I love you mama.
