Silhouetted Against Thy Love: 05 Poem by Subhas Chandra Chakra

Silhouetted Against Thy Love: 05

Silhouetted against thy love,
I am a prisoner of desire.
A moth drawn to the flame,
My heart, consumed by the fire.

I yearn for thy touch,
For the warmth of thy embrace,
But I am but a shadow,
Invisible in thy grace.

My love is like a mirage,
A dream that cannot be,
For I am but a silhouette,
A figment of fantasy.

Yet still I long to be near thee,
To bask in thy holy light,
To feel the warmth of thy love,
And know that all is right.

But until that day shall come,
I'll remain in shadowy guise,
Silhouetted against thy love,
Lost in a lover's guise.
