Silly Young Lady Poem by Kim Aouad

Silly Young Lady

Rating: 5.0

Silly, silly girl;
he never really loved you,
and you knew this ending all along.

Silly, silly girl;
it was pain your heart grew,
but what it must be is strong.

Silly, silly girl;
funny how time flew,
without you knowing where you belong.

Silly, silly girl;
you thought you could make him love you,
if you stayed for long.

Silly, silly girl;
you cannot change a heart of stone,
know not, did you?

Little girl,
you are now on your own,
so spare your feeling blue.

Little girl,
what good will it do you,
wasting your time on another flesh-and-bone?

Young lady,
lift your head up,
and be a lion at heart.

Young lady,
invest in your own self,
and wave Little Silly goodbye.

Young lady,
grow,
and worry not: you are more that good enough.
His loss it is,
so shed not a single other tear.

Young lady,
curse not your heart of gold,
and turn it not into a heart that is old
and knows not how to love.

Young lady,
you will love again,
when the timing is right.

We have to go through so much of this when we are young. Some of us grow old before we learn. Good luck to you.
