Silver String Orchestra Poem by Heath Harrington

Silver String Orchestra

I remember that first night.
enchanted.
full September moon
blanketing us in silver gossamer light
the sand sifting under our feet, and you trusted
me. Your tears proved that, as you shared
the life you kept from view. I was honored and shared also:
'Well here I am wanting to kiss another man's wife.'
'But your too much of a $%! %$ to do it.'
the waves crashed and fell
at our feet. I leaned in and our lips met. Sealing the fates that changed our lives forever. the stars
were our first song. a Silver string orchestra. I still hear the music and I know its gotten dim
over seven years. But they still play our song. Just listen with your heart.
