Simply The Poet Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Simply The Poet

Rating: 5.0

Why have I not become simple pet?
I could have remained quiet
Leave all people to their fate
Why all of sudden urge to become poet?

Well, I can't answer everything in one sentence
As it happened purely by chance
I had not thought once even about it
Even though the he case was very much fit

I used to move with sentiments
Whenever heard or read about some comments
About religious intolerance or atrocities on women
I felt it as unnecessary and bad omen

I had full desire to write
Something pressed me to ignite
About the passion and arouse the people
To fight and attain it through struggle

It needed only courage to write
I found it good and much to my delight
The course seemed to be noble and honest
The right things to air and occasionally test

It is not be meant for to earn money
If so then it shall be considered only pity
It may have brilliance in approach
But lack sincerity and punch

Let that be left to individual concerned
Whether it leads to fame or bread and butter earned
You are sold out and remotely cornered
You are commercially exploited and turned

One must love and feel the pulse
Of people to remain with them of course
It is right thing to be one among all
The poets, writes and soldiers respond to call

Jen Walls and Kerione Bryan like this. Jen Walls Born to write within our inner fight...out we go marching forth upon the earth...for loving falls to all hearts to give birth! Lovely and moving and deeply connected to poetic purpose within! Thanks dear Hasmukh

Efe Light Sakpere Poets respond to call too but they use their pen, while soldiers use their gun! I love verse one so much and poem is altogether meaningful. Kudos! 31 minutes ago · Unlike · 1

Busybee Sabeen likes this. Busybee Sabeen Glad you chose a powerful medium as poetry to voice your opinions and thoughts, reach out to people with a ripple effect. Every ripple counts in bringing about any change, and you could create quite a few. Infact, you're doing wonderfully well. Keep up the good work! 4 minutes ago · Edited · Unlike · 1 Tribhawan Kaul Writers/Poets write not only for their own satisfaction but to give wake up call every now and then for nipping the bud any social malady. Thousand talents languish in poverty yet the courage to take on the world to bring some change through their poems/writing is adorable. Thanks for sharing this poem. l eafsailor Such a strong understanding of the call, yes poets are the voice of the heart not the gold rajagopal touchy writing sir, we always try to communicate, poetry is from the heart
