We just had to visit Dollywood
And Dolly, oh what can I say
Charming as I knew she would be
Always joking and ready to play
She was promoting her new cookbook
As we gathered ‘round the stage
Perfect and cute as a button
Why, she sure doesn’t show her age
We enjoyed our Nashville tour
The Opry was on our travel bill
The singers we loved so much
Made the night a total thrill
It’s heaven to sit and watch
Singers from your childhood
That sang from the Opry on radios
All through the neighborhood
Jim Ed and Whisperin’ Bill were
Handsome and dressed so fine
I treasured every single minute
For this night seemed truly mine
And George Jones, how we love
To hear his wonderful unique voice
He turned 75 that night, you know
For entertainment, oh what a choice!
And Little Jimmy Dickens was
As funny as he can be
Same jokes and same ole’ smile
To me Little Jimmy IS the Opry
I wish you all could have been
In Tennessee with Randy and me
What a wonderful visit we had
With the great singers of country!

I would like to translate this poem
Wish I could have been there. I, too, love country music. Check out my poem COUNTRY CROONERS.
