Sinner By Blood Poem by Dakota Ellerton

Sinner By Blood

How could I help but not admire the storm.
With such fierce eyes
I’d stand against the heavens to yell your name.
Echoing amongst the clouds,
my cries will be heard.
Lightening will come,
and strike me where I stand,
for I am a sinner soaked in the bloods of angels.
I have taken pride in such destruction,
such recklessness.
Death is whispering my name,
and I challenge it.
I will curse Heaven and Hell,
until my mouth bleeds.
Thunder roars over head,
threatening me.
I am willing to sacrafice my life,
for theirs.
I’m so influenced,
I’d dropp to my knees and pray to a God I don’t believe in.
Torture is your name,
save me from this suffering.
On the darkest path,
the lights go out.
The sky lights up,
the last beauty I will see.
My vision is so distorted,
I see what I believe.
My mind creates images,
a reality.
On the edge of insanity,
I hurl the bottle and yell to God,
‘I didn’t even want life.’
