Sitting On The Fence Poem by callan mchugh

Sitting On The Fence

Blue and red had one focus, two colours, those f**king alcoholics.
Those that thought and those that worshiped, and in a similar respect...
Those that bought, and those that sold... you would know, Margaret.

Great once, but no more, nightingale had it easy.
Just a church speckled in vomit, and inside...
Full of corrupt priests, and holy confessors.

Yellow! You sat on the fence... like Henry
But would you fall off as easily as blue and red...
Not at all, pollution to the economy is a greater affliction than pollution to the air.

But, pollution to the mind? Who would notice?
After all, in a world of theists planning out the past...
We are just atheists praying for a future... Amen
