Sky Baby Poem by Casey Renee Kiser / snail viXen

Sky Baby

She doesn't read
between or walk the lines
And she skips
to the words that always escape

She takes
the oblong form of my pill
And says
I get all bent out of shape

Emptiness has taught me
how to hustle the full moon
I knocked up the starry
and slutty night again

She twists my arm
to stay awake for years and years
Sleep has taught me
how our dreams control the rain

She kicks me out
of my own spine, I fall to her feet
Pillows rape me
as nightmares continue to bless

She kills me, finally,
not before I give birth to the sky
Her indulgence bullies the universe
but is no match for karma's kiss
