Sleep - Poem by S.C. Setai
As I stand by the unnamed love,
and see her joke, smile laugh and jeast,
her face is like the heavenly dove,
may I lie with you and sleep for time the reast.
Your eyes shine like the brightest star,
lost in a sea of endless space,
I would go for you anywhere, no matter how far,
I would die a thousand deaths to see your wondrous face.
I love you always when you are happy and sad,
my thoughts are of you forever, in life and death,
I once hated life but you made me glad,
now so precious is my every breath.
O angel of endless beauty, I love you with all my heart so deep,
and may I follow you throughout our lives,
and with you lie in everlasting sleep.
