Sleep calls softly,
Knocks gently on my door
Requesting its entry
And supplication for solitude.
Do I answer?
I would lose control,
Slip into that world
Where she remains my only true love...
Dare I let this world escape
If only for a moment?
Where a land without lover's touch,
Tender heartbreak and agony dissipate?
There, she gathers me
Into her arms,
Is brave enough to rain
Her kisses upon me...
There, I am not alone-
Left to hold a key
To a lock long
Rusted shut.
Here, I know which
Way her dagger points, but
There we love and
Are at peace.
Shall the twain ever meet?
