Sleep Now Little One Poem by Timber Koleden

Sleep Now Little One

Rating: 5.0

What are these tears?
All your fears will pass away
Can you not hear?
The call of golden shores far away

Why are you weeping?
All your tears will be wiped away
Can you not see—that you're dreaming?
You will be home one day

No need to feel dread
I will hold you in my arms now
I will carry you to bed
Asleep beyond the darkest clouds

This great poem fosters a deep and lasting attachment for the child and the mother. Yet in another context, this poem is also an assurance on the child for an everlasting life as brilliantly expressed in the last lines of every stanza of the poem.
