Sleepless Nights (Insomnia) Poem by Patricia Darcy

Sleepless Nights (Insomnia)

Rating: 4.0

</>Sleep why do you elude me
Why does the silence sound so loud
Echoing like the waves upon the sea
Or the raucous yelling of the crowd

Why can't I slumber through the night
Awaking only to another day
No dreams filled with fright
For a night of peaceful sleep is all I pray

I gaze at the moon in all it's glory
The beauty of the stars I can see
But my night always tells the same old story
Sleep why do you elude me

This is beautiful! So well done... I feel as if I can absolutely relate to this, for sometimes I have the same questions... Why does silence seem to be so loud? That is a question I seem to ask myself A LOT... great work Ms. Patricia Darcy.. I can't wait to be consumed into many more of your poems :)
