Sliding Into Home Poem by Bryan Taplits

Sliding Into Home

I love to think of times gone by
When all was fair and breezy
No sorrowed cries
nor stress nor strain
Life's currents waved so easy.
As life passed by, I thumbed a ride,
And out the window glanced upon,
There I saw 'me' with a handicap-
Now too infirm and old to run.
Sure, today seems only moderately 'OK, '
But yesterday-years were a 'sweeping win',
So tomorrow I'll look on with its engorging new ways-
Then 'Tomorrow'-
And tomorrow again.
