Slipping Sanity Poem by Cory The Alchemist

Slipping Sanity

Rating: 5.0

I sit alone but the grass
This is my sanctuary, my shield, from the evils
There are no problems only me, myself and I
I watch as nature reveals it's secrets in front of my eyes
I spy a wind ornament spinning gracefully with the breeze
It mesmerizes me
Makes me forget all my troubles
I feel weightless and jubilant
I never want to leave
'Keep spinning' I say
I close my eyes and suddenly I am spinning with the breeze
I let it take me
Wherever it goes I will follow
I feel an itching in the back of my brain
No not here
Wait yes
Here
Come and save me from this wretched dream of peacefulness
The wind turns violent
Thunder and lightening boom and crash everywhere
I open my eyes
The ornament is spinning madly
I try to run but I can't
The storm just reminds me of reality
My life, My whole world are spinning out of control
They've isolated me
I can never love another
For they will just hurt them and make me suffer
But why
Why won't they just let me go
They're always in my head and refuse to leave
Just give us a chance they say
They are the ultimate persuaders
Every time I think I'm safe the voices just come back
They just tease me then make me fall to the ground
Then they kick me while I'm down
People always say that if I'm having problems i should talk about it
They don't understand
I'm not having problems I'm just fine
The voices put a hatchet in my hand
'It's playtime' they whisper
I smile and go choose my prey
I am the supreme Hunter
I'm perfectly sane
My only insane quality is my thoughts of peace and normality
I love being a predator
I embrace the voices
They guide me, they command me
So friends from all around
Come visit your good pal Cory
I'm over do for spilling your blood
Hahahaha
