Maybe the scent that's settled
isn't you but memories
Always thought time an illusion,
never knew that it could freeze.
It's always your scent
when I breathe in air
I see you in every corner,
though I know that you're not there.
We were slow dancing together
to an unfamiliar song
I never knew that's what love was
until you came along.
Never took it for granted
I swore I never would.
After having to be without you,
I knew I never could.
Always said I'd equate
love with your scent
never thought it would leave,
the smell of pain when you went.
We were slow dancing together
to an unfamiliar song,
we re-defined what love was
I never knew it could go wrong.

I would like to translate this poem
Natural, simple, clear poetry. The more intense the love, the worse the pain of separation... Best wishes, Robert.
