Sm012, How Far Education Helps?

THE MOTHER OF PONDICHERRY

Raw gold is first heated to melt,
Then beaten, moulded, and cut
Into pieces to make an ornament,
And finally, a chain comes out of it.

Similarly, one's young raw brain,
For years, needs higher education,
For him to become a wise man,
To run his life carefree in the long run.

In this context what Mother says,
The capacity of a man is limitless,
And, in course of time, up it grows,
Based on his personal experience.

Born in a low class one may be,
But his life goes smooth and free,
By the lessons all that he learnt
From what the education taught.

"Concentrate on the body always,
You'll surely fall ill, " she says,
"Concentrate on your vital then,
You'll go deep into depression."

"Concentrate on your mind,
You'll go mad in the end,
And this is human nature,
That leads to this behaviour."

She doesn't distinguish between
The ordinary life of a person
With the spiritual life of anyone
For both are considered as one.

She feels, one is less consciousness,
And another is more consciousness,
That goes on and on developing further,
Into a higher spiritual life, in future.

Education softens one's mind.
A new way of life one can find,
From the knowledge gained,
When he's well trained in his field.

So more importance to education
Should be given by any nation,
To develop harmony and peace
Among its well-educated subjects.
