Smash It To Pieces - Poem by Christine Anderson

Wake up, you can't sleep in
It's ten to seven once again
You've got to put your suit and tie on
Get out in your SUV
Grab a latte, extra shot please
It's time to dream a little dream

Build up your credit
Build up your self esteem
Build up your bank account
Moving up in the scene
Everyone's living the American dream
So we can build up an army
And smash it to pieces

Head's up, it's ten to three
Time to check on productivity
And write projections for December
Stay up, you're working late
Was this your dream when you were eight?
Some things are so had to remember

Build up your credit
Build up your self esteem
Build up your bank account
Moving up in the scene
Everyone's living the American dream
So we can build up an army
And smash it to pieces
