Superman Poem by Christine Anderson

Superman

Rating: 5.0

Wake up, dreamer, from your trance
Coincidence and circumstance
Would show you something if perchance
You had the eyes to see
If you want to have it all you can
Strategize your masterplan
Be your own personal superman, baby

Superman, Superman, Superman
Doing the things you think nobody can
Tell me why, tell me why, tell me why, tell me why
It’s easy to break down and so hard to fly
Superman, Superman, Superman
If you want to have it all you can but
Strategize your plan til then baby

Cuz life ain't more than gameboard space
With hoops to jump and dreams to chase
And one day fate'll put us all in our place
Going going gone
And one day God might come on back
With a summer tan and a Cadillac
Time, he'll laugh, why I just lost track
What else could he really say?

Superman, Superman, Superman
Doing the things you think nobody can
Tell me why, tell me why, tell me why, tell me why
It’s easy to break down and so hard to fly
Superman, Superman, Superman
If you want to have it all you can but
Strategize your plan til then baby

Roll of thunder, grapes of wrath
From the afterglow to the aftermath
The aftershocks shake the looking glass
But time still marches on
So be your own

Superman, Superman, Superman
Doing the things you think nobody can
Tell me why, tell me why, tell me why, tell me why
It’s easy to break down and so hard to fly
Superman, Superman, Superman
If you want to have it all you can but
Strategize your plan til then baby
