A smile shared. A blessing given. A wonderful poem.

We all have that one person in our lives whose smile makes us BELIEVE that everything in the world is fine and beautiful.. It is a simple thought, a feeling to be more precise.. You captured that very feeling with the same CERTAINTY that is felt by many of those who have experienced it.. A simple, beautiful, well crafted poem Lyndsay. Thanks for sharing.

I like the brevity of this poem: it shows you trust the smile to reveal the other person's nature. Scientists use the word rictus to identify what looks like a smile on an animal's face but isn't; they claim only humans smile. I don't know. But the way these three lines weave together into an appreciation of a single person out of so many makes me feel the wonder of that simple gesture.
