Snobberyinpubliclife

Officers of lower ranks admire
the virtues of those in higher echelons,
make them smile, get their signatures
and leave the office offering advice
to take in their duties and responsibilities.
The same snobbish officers praise themselves
and prove panegyriks when commoners
approach humbly to some services done.

There are snobs in communities and races.
They boast themselves and say that
the members of their caste are intelligents.
But Psychology says, "intelligence is a gift"
nurtured by the effects of heredity to the least
and the impact of environment to the most.

You may be honest and efficient in your work.
When a snob sits by fate in your superior's seat,
you have to bend and eulogize him
to keep smooth going in your duties.
Snobbery helps you get offers and freebies
when men and women in higher strata are praised.

There are political patrons to gangsters.
They heap adulation on the heads of Don's,
to garner votes in polls from their strongholds.
Even the cops salute the rowdies for favours
as gifts, transfers and promotions.
When the political winds change direction,
the dons are encountered in their dens.
Believe not the snobs in politics.
Soon they will be your foes to slit your throat.
