Snowflakes (2) Poem by Divya Macsuedon

Snowflakes (2)

Softly you settle on the bare apple trees.

Succulent they say the fruits will be.

The Cedars, theSpruces, the
Willows welcome thee!

Redbreasted Robins your torchbearers be.

A quiet descends on the whitest of whites.

From the eaves hang the crystals of paradise.

I watch the snowflakes, intent, in free-fall.

Each year, it gets rarer this wonderous snowfall.

The fireplace, reserved for the roasted chestnuts.

It's, that, whiff of winter that suffuses my mind.

I soak in, the scene of the eagles and crows-

"Shouldnt we, now, to the warmer climes proceed? "

The Board games and Scrabble
Such sweet memories.

Mythological stories from Ma
comfort me.

Of books read and shared, at bedtime.

They added to wisdom much before time.

Of the wonderous shapes of that single snowflake.

The Botanist mother's eternal love for green!

The snow lined paths crossed so gleefully.

The smell of Christmas, can it further be!

It's passed on, this love.Oh so tenderly.

The   laughter of siblings and the sleigh rides.

This deep love for Winter, in children abides.

Of the Churchbells and temples
such harmony.

The solitude now.It never did leave me.

I saw them, as children, watch PolarExpress rides.

Their books stacked inWinter
read at nighttime.

The tallest Deodars, proud sentinels they be.

Their arms sway often, when they talk  at nightime.

The Song of the Wind, as it
lifts the snow.

O deeply comforting, are the Seasons in flow.

I long for the Winter, so often in day dreams.

Verses with snowflakes, then dance in my dreams.
