Snowflakes Poem by David Welch

Snowflakes

They come along, frail and pretty,
beautiful in light of day,
branching beams, a complex structure,
but snowflakes melt away

They seem that they'll be here forever,
a white world meant to stay,
but knowledge knows their time is fleeting,
snowflakes melt away

And what at first seemed ever-pleasant,
will send people astray,
with sliding wheels we all do cry:
"Snowflakes, melt away! "

The heat shall grow, so shall the anger,
no longer willing to play,
and all will smile and greet the sun
when snowflakes melt away…
