Snowpearls Poem by fraidoon warasta

Snowpearls

i wish
there were snowpearls
rolling down the roof
carpeting my balcony,
the garden…

i wish i could count
the footsteps of my cat
in the snow…

some naked trees are preparing
to wear winter's garment
but the frosty winter
seems to be far far away

it's january, still not really cold
buds of some trees
have started to wake
untimely

i don't know
whether the polar bears still have
a cottage to hibernate,
where icebergs
are swallowed by seawaters

it seems winter's delegation
wouldn't arrive this year, but…

i wish i had no wishes and worries
nature doesn't listen
