So Do Unto Others Poem by Francis Duggan

So Do Unto Others

Do unto others as you would like them do unto you
A very old saying that remains ever true
To hurt somebody's feelings deliberately is not a nice thing
Far better the praises of that person to sing
The gift of the gab is with those born to rule
But some people with their words can be very cruel
And some in their ways can be so very small
If you cannot say good of a person why say anything at all
Words can be so offensive when used in a cruel way
And the mental hurt caused by them can remain with the offended one for many a day
Words can destroy friendships and cause much offence
So to deliberately hurt one's feelings does make little sense
So do unto others as you'd like them do unto you
And always give credit to where credit is due.
