So I Told My Friends Poem by kinuthia david

So I Told My Friends

You make me laugh
and shake my rusty ribs
and should i take-in a bluff
and put mine-hands in cuffs
and like-in summer days-a leaf
watch as-mine vines they crack?
so that you,
and your friends like you
added to the many others like you
trample on me as you scratch-up for my fruits.

Perhaps am stupid; but am no fool
for even stupid men know when their stomachs are full
so the more they spend on their lavatories.

And i know my instincts
I know counterfeit
and with equivalent weight
real deals are so distinct.

I know that am prey
and so am i predator
for comouflage too is a thing of mine
it works for me, and so
against it works also;
and, so
scavengers underscore me not
and for symbiotic-allies, they too
should over-look me not
-or so i told my friends.
