So Let God Wink Poem by Daniel Thomason

So Let God Wink

When hearts clothe the horizon a soft maroon,
When man treks the earth to reach for the moon,
When boys calmly pardon a blushing heart,
When girls finally conceive that they are art,
When fathers pick up and pull their weight,
When a mother's fixed mind is free from our plate,
When morality is morality and not a cruel game,
When a song is a song and not a genre to blame,
When our hearts clothe the horizon a brilliant maroon,
God will wink from the heavens and say: 'I will be there soon.'
