So Much Pain Poem by Dannielle Smedley

So Much Pain

Rating: 5.0

There’s so much terror in her eyes,
She can’t help but to cry,
Her head is spinning; she knows she’s losing this battle, not winning.
She stares at her reflection in the mirror as she softly whispers
“I want to kill her”
So much pain, running through her veins,
Her whole life was going to fade,
As she picked up the razor blade,
The thoughts in her head told her she’s better off dead,
More thoughts began to run through her brain,
Making her go insane,
‘This is right; you’ll soon see the light’.
She held the blade up to her wrist, hoping that she didn’t miss,
‘I don’t want to be here anymore’ and with those last words,
She counted,1,2,3,4….
She sliced her wrists, both left and right,
She now waited to see the light,
She knew her pain would soon be gone,
As she slowly fell to the floor,
As blood poured down her arm,
She began to feel calm,
The beautiful girl who smiled every day, has now passed away,
Everyone thought she was always happy,
but they were wrong,
She had been living in the darkness, for ever so long,
Her mother cried at her death, she was now such a mess,
She bent down and held her face,
Softly whispered;
“just one last kiss, you shall be dearly missed”
When her friends found out, they were all in shock no doubt,
Tears streamed down everyone’s cheeks,
even the bullies who would call her a geek.
Everyone was so sad,
They all felt responsible and extremely bad,
Even the teachers were crying, and on the inside, they were dying.
Now that she were gone,
everyone felt so sick and torn,
She thought she was alone, when she always had a home,
Her family and friends were always there,
yet she thought they did not care.
Oh why did she cut her wrists,
She will be dearly missed.
‘You will always be in my heart, that way we’ll never be apart’
Her mother said,
As she held a picture of her and cried in her bed,
When she left the face of this earth,
She only made things even worse,
She was now free, from her pain & misery,
But what she didn’t know,
Was she had passed on her sadness & sorrow.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Suicide is a huge thing which has been occurring a lot more; suicide has increased over the last few years by a great amount, and it is truly heart breaking. I wrote this poem a few months ago, to show that what suicide does, I dedicate this to all the ones out there who are going through depression or who have lost someone due to suicide...
