Those who die before I
Raptured into blissful bye and bye
Never planned their demise
At least from what I surmise
“See you on the set, ” never forget
All the laughs, then the regret
Someone called and said,
“Sorry to report, our friend is dead”
He gave a call before his final fall
To congratulate my booking, I recall
Here today, gone tomorrow
Not enough time to weep in sorrow
What’s the real answer
To ward off cancer?
How do you indeed nourish
Your daily struggle to flourish?
While other grope and flounder
Healthy souls may feel sounder
Continue to hear of ones who passed
I fear it’s not the last
So quickly we fade
Into the mortal shade
Leaving mourners to mourn
Our reality torn
When my time arrives, will I be ready?
To face the inevitable and remain steady?
Another day, at loss to say why
There are those who die before I
