Soldier Of The New Age Poem by Christopher Holman

Soldier Of The New Age

Each day ending with another tear
each breathe punctuated by the sobbing realization
every scene running those translucent images
going through the motions for inexplicable purpose.

Screams so dull it forces their smiles
this society forms its outcast
be it your goths or be it intelligence
your youth falls prey to itself.

The sounds of steel are silent, the rings untouched
there is no battle in bureacracy
only your opaque ideas
no murder is as absolute as that of the soul.

March onward, individualism is the trend now
so fight, fight that paradox
what you fight is the fight itself
to try is to fail.

Listen not to silent chants of conformity
such is to fall into their songs,
everyone is dying to dance
but the dance is already dead.
