Sole Arbitrator And Master Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Sole Arbitrator And Master

Rating: 5.0

I don't mind mosquito bites
I don't mind even street fights
They have become just routine and normal
We rub it off from mind with easy dismissal

I can understand about dog's bark
At any stranger's entry make ire to spark
But why do the learned people use abusive language?
Just short of heavy fight to prove the clear edge

I can understand too about river's naughtiness
When in spate doesn't care about whom she faces?
That is one kind of joy to express eagerness and show
But why do sea change color, play havoc and blow?

I see people damaging public property and burning?
Poor people rush with nothing on hand to return
They never reach home and loose the precious life?
Should any one be subjected to attack from sharp knife?

I have no answer for such silly things
It has baffled me from the beginning
I ventured into remote part of inner soul
It failed to respond me even to the parts or as whole

People have changed the style of thinking
Their morale is going down and shrinking
This has been largely due to propaganda machinery
Which is poisoning their ears unnecessarily?

Our land was known world wide for tolerance
Foreigners came here for learning art of peace
We were model country and had shown the way
Now we are looking for outside help and chance is thrown away

We advocate peace but lack the teeth to implement
We lower the guard at front and face enemy movement
We talk about harmony and cordial relation
But face danger from outside with escalation

Hope we all need to understand
Foes are too needed as friends
Hostility and instability may invite disaster
We need to be sole arbitrator and master
