Most people do not like solitude.
They confuse it with loneliness.
They do not understand its utility.
They work hard to find a mate and
will change themselves for it.
I don't want this.
I don't need this.
It's not that I'm an anti-social person.
I talk to new people, meet them and
leave them only when my purpose
is served and when they start becoming a problem for my solitude.
I have realized the ephemeral
nature of life and people.
That's why I give most of
my time to myself.
And I love how day by day
I'm getting closer to death and reality,
breaking illusions, experiencing things
that I would never have experienced
if I had been in stupid company.
Solitude gives you all this.

There are so many people who enjoy being alone without feeling lonely. This poem captures that perfectly.
